Marking Michelle Obama’s College Thesis Part One

I came upon a very interesting discovery: Michelle Obama’s college thesis from 1985!
I couldn’t wait to read it…and to evaluate it! Why? Knowing what I know about her now, I am very curious to find out what her intellectual ability and her belief system may have been like during those influential, formative years!
My current belief is that Michelle Obama is not likely to be a good person.
Why? Well, I say that for two main reasons.
The first is the fact that she associates with her husband, and I believe there’s overwhelming evidence that her husband is not a good person, based on his policies and statements, as well as the disturbing views of numerous czars whom he’s hired, among other factors. I also find it suspicious that there are several dead bodies of people who have been associated with Obama in some way: the 9/11 widow who died a week after meeting with Obama; the witness who had been cooperating regarding Obama’s passport hack was found shot in the back of the head; the alleged gay lover of Obama’s was, along with two other openly gay members of Obama’s church, murdered.
The second reason I think Michelle Obama is not likely to be a good person is the fact that, during the 2008 primary nomination elections, she said: “Let me tell you something, for the first time in my adult lifetime I’m really proud of my country”. That certainly suggests that she had a lot of anger, perhaps hatred, and may have even been a radical.
Tenn. Community College May Cut Federal Student Loans

Nashville State Community College is weighing the decision to eliminate federal student loans from its financial aid programs.
The school is assessing the number of its students who have defaulted on their federal student loans and believes it may be in a better position to preserve other types of federal financial aid if it exits the student loan program. Schools whose students default at consistently high rates lose eligibility for all federal student aid — not just loans, but also federal grants and work-study funds.
About 25 percent of NSCC’s students currently take on federal college loans as part of their financial aid package. The school’s 2008 default rate on federal education loans was over 13 percent.
This default rate — the current standard calculation used by the U.S. Department of Education — measures how many students have defaulted on their federal college loans within two years of having begun repayment. Schools whose two-year default rate exceeds 25 percent lose access to federal student aid funds.
Under new federal regulations which are set to take effect next year, however, the student loan default rate will be measured over three years, with a new financial-aid eligibility threshold of 30 percent.
Measured over three years, NSCC’s default rate nearly doubles to 25 percent. If the school’s three-year default rate climbs just 5 percent more, NSCC could lose access to all federal student aid, including Pell Grants and work-study funding.
How To Find An Online College

Going to an actual college or university can be hard, especially if you have young children or work long hours. Adjusting your work schedule around can be difficult. If you want to go back to school, you may have considered an online college. Since online college means that you can take your classes when you want, so you can wait until the children go to bed or you can work on it on the weekends when it’s been a busy work week, it might be the best option for you.
Do a general online search for online colleges. It is better if you search for accredited online colleges, since the accredited schools are the ones that will have a more impressive degree. If the school is not accredited, some places will discount it, so make sure that you have an accredited online college.
Shortlist a few colleges. You want to have more than just one online college to choose from on your list. This will mean that if you find out that some of the colleges are not accredited you won’t be required to do an entire college search again.
Look at reviews. This can tell you if an online college is considered a good school or not. Some places will discount online degrees if the college is not considered a good school, so make sure that you look at the reviews. If you find some reviews on news websites, this is a good source to consider. Blogs are a good source for finding out about public opinions about online colleges.
Sign up for online classes at a college that has a physical university or college. Something like the University of Phoenix. This is not only an accredited school, but if you have a degree from schools like this, they will carry much more weight than an online college that doesn’t have a physical location.
College Professor Can Ruin a Student’s Future with Political Zealotry

About one year ago I was watching a political show that had invited two college students in for a comment about some recent situation. One of the two students immediately went into a verbal tirade referring to many public people as fascists. The young lady attended a major northeast university and I have to assume that she is very intelligent. As I watched while she was referring to some very good decent people, I began to wonder what was in her past and what will be in her future.
I imagined that she came from a fairly well to do family with high hopes for their daughter and a big return on their major college financial investment. Then as I watched her begin to really make a fool out of herself, I realized that this young lady is boxing herself into a very small box for the future. I retired from a company that had sixty-six thousand employees. I know of no one, including myself, who would hire a zealot like her. Left or right extremist doesn’t matter. No one in corporate America wants to saddle himself or herself with a problem like her. I once defined a person like her as “a lawsuit waiting to happen”.
One might think that young college students could perceive a problem with publicly demonstrating their extreme political views. These potential problems do not seem to stop students from making fools of them selves but I have heard that they are beginning to become aware of the dangers and are now discussing the problem among themselves.
Getting Through College Without Student Loans

According to statistics compiled by the U.S. Department of Education, two-thirds of college students today leave their alma mater with debt from student loans, and the average student loan debt amount among these graduates is a startling ,186.
These student debt numbers go hand in hand with reports from the College Board that four-year public colleges and universities now charge, on average, about ,600 in annual tuition and fees to in-state undergraduate students and nearly ,000 a year to out-of-state students. Private non-profit four-year colleges and universities average more than twice that, costing students about ,300 a year in tuition and fees.
With the average tuition cost of a four-year degree running between ,000 and 8,000 — and that’s without counting non-tuition college costs like room and board, textbooks, transportation, and living expenses — it’s easy to understand why student loans have become such a common piece of a student’s financial aid package.
An increasing number of students who graduate with college loans, however, are finding it difficult to repay their student loan debt. Department of Education statistics show that nationally, about 7 percent of borrowers who entered repayment on their federal education loans in 2008 defaulted within the first year of repayment, and nearly 14 percent have defaulted within three years. (2008 is the last full year for which student loan default statistics are available.)
College Planning – 6 New Year Resolutions That Lower Your College Tuition

College Planning: 6 New Year’s Resolutions That Lower Your College Tuition
Is one of your New Year’s resolutions to save money on college tuition? If so, you can lower your college tuition by implementing one or more of the following tips:
1. E-file your FAFSA. On the first day of the year, the FAFSA, or the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, becomes available. The early bird gets the worm because college financial aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. E-filing saves time and lets you submit the application early. Plus, it’s easy to make corrections. (Don’t worry if you haven’t completed your 2010 income taxes yet. You can file your FAFSA based on estimates and make changes later if necessary.)
2. Update the financial aid office. If the information on your FAFSA form is inaccurate, especially your income, notify the school’s financial aid department. Situations such as sudden unemployment and medical expenses must be reported in order for the FAFSA to be adjusted accordingly.
3. Collect “tax scholarships.” Families and students can take advantage of tax breaks for educational expenses. Middle-income and low-income families collect American Opportunity tax credits amounting to as much as ,500. Even families who don’t pay a cent in taxes can still receive checks from the government. If you wish to try for a tax deduction, you should wait until February to file because the IRS still has to program the new deductions into their database.
